Breathitt County Recent Arrest Records
Every Breathitt County arrest starts as paperwork. The citation or incident report may come from the Breathitt County Sheriff's Office, the Jackson Police Department, Kentucky State Police Post 13, or another agency. Booking follows the arrest. KSP releases again and again name Kentucky River Regional Jail, or KRRJ, in Hazard as the facility that receives adults arrested in Breathitt cases. Kentucky DOC classifies Breathitt among counties with a closed jail, which is why the county hosts no adult roster of its own.
No single public page covers every recent arrest, custody status, photo, and case outcome. The arresting agency owns its facts. KRRJ and Kentucky VINE answer custody questions. The Breathitt Circuit Court Clerk holds the case record. A dated news story adds context but sits one step removed from the primary sources. Note the date on each source and the time of each custody check, because transport, release, and court dates never move on one shared clock.
Breathitt Booking Record Fields
KSP releases confirm some booking facts. Others simply have no public Breathitt roster behind them. An arrest date is not a booking time. A release date is not a case result. Use this inventory to ask the right office for each fact it holds.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Full name | The name used in the agency release or record; match spelling across VINE and court files. |
| Age or residence | Some KSP releases include these details, but they are not guaranteed fields. |
| Arrest date and agency | Who made or investigated the arrest and when the reported event occurred. |
| Charges | Charges stated at that stage, not findings of guilt. |
| Booking time or number | Not verified in a public county display; request it from the booking custodian. |
| Custody facility | Recent official releases name KRRJ, but current placement still needs confirmation. |
| Bond or release | A case-specific status that can change and should be checked with the jail or court. |
| Court disposition | The later dismissal, plea, trial result, sentence, or other outcome in the court file. |
| Booking photograph | No routine official Breathitt online display was verified; availability depends on the custodian and law. |
Medical details, classification data, and cell placement are not ordinary lookup fields. Juvenile matters take a separate, restricted path. Ask for one specific maintained record, not an agency-made summary.
Request Breathitt Booking Records
Kentucky's open-records process fills the gap left by the missing online roster. Start with the agency that made the arrest. KSP reports go through the KSP request channel. For a sheriff record, the current county listing places Sheriff John Hollan at 1137 Main Street, Jackson, KY 41339. The number is (606) 666-3800 extension 229. An older county page lists extension 230. So confirm the extension and the custodian before sending anything. Jailer Joel Gross appears at the same main number, extension 242.
Keep the request narrow so it routes easily. Give the full name, a rough date range, and the arresting agency if known. List each record type sought too. A citation, incident report, booking intake, booking photograph, and court file are separate items. Ask for electronic delivery when a record exists that way. Breathitt publishes no photo fee, booking-fee schedule, custodian email, or production promise. So request an itemized cost estimate up front.
- Identify the arresting agency and approximate event date.
- Name the exact record, such as an incident report or booking intake.
- Confirm whether the sheriff, jailer, KRRJ, Jackson Police, or KSP is custodian.
- Ask for the record's electronic form and a copy-cost estimate.
- Keep the request, response, cited exemption, and all dates together.
KRS 61.880(1) generally calls for a written determination within five business days. That clock covers the response or a supported delay notice, not the records themselves. Production can take longer. The official KSP Open Records Requests page lays out the state police route. It also covers its requirements.
Those instructions govern records held by KSP. KRRJ or a local office answers for the records it keeps.
Five Breathitt Booking Documents
One arrest can leave five records with five owners. The arresting agency may hold the incident report or citation. KRRJ may hold the intake file. VINE reports the custody state. The Breathitt court opens a case file, and Kentucky DOC may create a KOOL record later if the person enters state custody or supervision. None copies every date, photo, charge, or result from the others.
| Event stage | Best official route | Main limit |
|---|---|---|
| Arrest or investigation | Arresting agency | No single county-wide agency list exists. |
| Transport and intake | KRRJ or the named receiving jail | No verified public KRRJ search endpoint was found. |
| Custody or release alert | Kentucky VINE | It is not the original arrest report or an instant feed. |
| Hearings and disposition | Breathitt Circuit Court Clerk | The county page does not promise a free online docket search. |
| State sentence or supervision | Kentucky DOC KOOL | It is not a fresh county booking roster. |
The split matters most here because adult booking runs through a regional facility. An arrest may happen in Jackson. Intake happens in Hazard. The court file stays in Jackson.
Find Breathitt Mugshots and Arrests
Start official and match the source to the question. Search the KSP news archive for Breathitt or Post 13. Do this when state police handled the event. Then search Kentucky VINELink by partial name or known identifier for reported custody. No result? Call the sheriff or jailer, and KRRJ. Ask where the person was taken and which office holds the booking record. A blank search can mean lag, release, transfer, a spelling issue, or a restricted record. It can also mean no public feed at all.
The Breathitt court answers later case status. Kentucky DOC's KOOL system applies only when state custody or supervision is in play. Federal sentences call for the Bureau of Prisons locator. ICE runs a separate detainee locator for qualifying immigration custody. A federal pretrial detainee may sit under the U.S. Marshals Service, which offers no public locator. None of those federal tools supplies a Breathitt booking-photo feed. The Breathitt Fiscal Court elected-officials page is the current official starting point. Use it for reaching the sheriff and jailer.
Go straight to the official county contacts. A third-party directory may invent a Breathitt roster or point to a stale jail address, and neither helps a serious arrest search.
Breathitt Custody Roster Route
Breathitt County publishes no public custody roster. There is no name-search form, booking-card lookup, or booking-photo display on county channels. No update schedule or roll-off policy exists to check. Promising a live search by bond amount, release date, or booking number would mislead people. What official KSP reports do support is clear. Kentucky River Regional Jail serves as the adult receiving jail for recent Breathitt arrests.
| Search detail | Verified public status |
|---|---|
| Name | Use partial-name search in VINELink, then confirm directly. |
| Booking number | No county online field verified; ask the booking custodian. |
| Charge or arrest date | May appear in an agency release; request the maintained record. |
| Bond and release | Confirm with the facility or court because status can change. |
| Booking photo | No official online Breathitt display or routine policy verified. |
Call the jail directly for custody questions. A government procurement record lists Kentucky River Regional Jail at 200 Justice Drive, Hazard, KY 41701, phone 606-436-0622. Verify that number first. Share personal material only after confirming the contact. Start with VINELink, then phone the county and the facility, and request the booking record itself when you need a durable copy.
Note: An absent web entry does not prove release, and an old entry does not prove present custody.
Breathitt Recent Arrest Windows
Breathitt County offers no fixed 24-hour arrest feed and no complete rolling blotter. Each separate window answers a different question, so treat them as leads rather than lists. KSP releases are official, yet selective. Local newspapers can preserve dated accounts of arrests. But their weekly pace and editorial choices cannot capture every booking.
| Window | Best use | What it cannot prove |
|---|---|---|
| Same day | Check agency notices, VINELink, and direct custody contacts. | Silence does not prove no arrest occurred. |
| Several days | Compare dated KSP and local news reports with the court and facility. | Selective coverage is not a complete blotter. |
| Ongoing custody | Use VINE alerts and facility confirmation for one named person. | A status result is not the arrest document. |
| Historical | Request the record, ask the court clerk, then check newspaper archives. | A web archive does not set official retention. |
The routes above split into a same-day check, a multi-day arrest log, and the VINELink workflow. Note each route's timestamp and source scope before drawing conclusions.
No Breathitt Sheriff App Verified
The sheriff's office offers no booking app. No inmate-search app or public arrest dashboard carries the office's endorsement either. County pages list the sheriff and office contacts without linking any app-store listing. A social account bearing the sheriff's name is not strong evidence of an official feed. Skip generic jail apps promoted by directories. For selected cases, KSP's official news archive works better as a public alert channel. It is still not a daily booking list. Until the sheriff links a verified tool, the phone and written-record routes stay dependable. They remain the local fallback for Breathitt arrest information.
Breathitt Cases Reach Court
Custody and court records move on different clocks. A VINE result can change after release or transfer. The court file tells the fuller story. It may later show arraignment, where charges are read and plea issues begin; continuances; dismissal; a plea; trial; acquittal; conviction; sentencing; or expungement activity. A disposition is the recorded outcome of a case. Never guess it from a booking charge or bond figure. The official Breathitt Court of Justice page lists the Justice Center at 1131 Main Street, Jackson, and Circuit Court Clerk James E. Turner II at (606) 666-5768. It directs record requests to the clerk and notes that older files may sit in storage or be destroyed under a retention schedule.
Once a Breathitt arrest moves to court, the case file shows its later stages. Not every record is open, since sealed or restricted files stay off limits.
Breathitt Juvenile Records Differ
Juvenile custody follows a separate path. Breathitt Regional Juvenile Detention Center belongs to the state Department of Juvenile Justice. It is not on the missing adult county roster. A child's status cannot be read from adult VINE, KOOL, KRRJ, or news results. Juvenile files and sealed matters carry tighter access limits. Use court-authorized and Department of Juvenile Justice channels. Go through them only when access is lawful. Never publish a juvenile name or image from an uncertain secondary source. An empty adult roster says nothing about a protected juvenile matter.
Breathitt Warrant Access Limits
Kentucky eWarrants is not a public name-search portal. Its login states plainly that access is limited to authorized personnel. Unauthorized use is monitored. Breathitt County has no active-warrant list, bench-warrant search, wanted archive, or official most-wanted page. Don't rebuild one from scraped names or undated photos. For a specific question, contact the Breathitt sheriff or the Circuit Court Clerk. Give them the name and case context. An executed search warrant may be available from a clerk when it is not sealed. An unexecuted warrant can stay restricted. KSP's unsolved-case page offers an investigative resource with a Breathitt filter. It is not a warrant roster or recent-arrest list. The official Kentucky eWarrants login notice makes the limit explicit.
That login notice describes an authorized system. It says nothing about a public Breathitt wanted list. Never approach someone you believe is wanted; call 911 in an emergency or use an official agency channel for a non-emergency lead.
Breathitt Mugshots and Booking Photos
Kentucky's open-records law, KRS 61.870, counts booking photos and inmate photographs as public records. That sounds broad. It doesn't mean every agency keeps a photo. Nor is each image always released without redaction. And Breathitt County may not put photos online at all. The county publishes no photo roster, and the sheriff's office sets no routine display policy. So ask the agency that made the arrest or holds the person in custody whether it keeps the image. Then ask which exemptions apply.
A second statute, KRS 61.8746, takes aim at pay-to-remove sites. These profit from booking photos obtained from public agencies. Fixing the source record is the lawful path. That means a correction. It may mean a publisher's free correction process where one exists. Or a court remedy such as expungement if the case qualifies. Skip any vendor promising to erase an official record. Removal from one website never proves the agency or court file changed.
| Photo channel | Official? | Breathitt finding |
|---|---|---|
| Breathitt sheriff or jailer | Yes | No routine public photo display found; request custodian confirmation. |
| KRRJ booking record | Yes, if held by facility | No verified public roster or photo endpoint found. |
| Kentucky DOC KOOL | Yes | Has a photos-only filter for state records, not fresh county bookings. |
| Local news | No | Selective, dated coverage may include an agency or scene image. |
| Mugshots.com Breathitt section | No | An unofficial local section exists and may be stale or incomplete. |
| Other named aggregators | No | No current dedicated Breathitt section was verified. |
Mugshots.com does run a Breathitt page. It also offers a free email-based removal claim. It stays unofficial, though. Acting there changes no agency or court file. Recently Booked, Busted Newspaper, and Mugshots.zone carry no active Breathitt section. Kentucky Arrests.org holds only a historic cross-county item rather than a live local feed. Treat these services as dated leads. Check them after every official source.
Breathitt Arrest Expungement Status
Expungement is a later legal status. It is not a quiet rewrite of what first happened. Kentucky Courts lays out automatic expungement for certain dismissals and acquittals. A petition route exists for eligible offenses. Forms, filing rules, fees, review periods, and agency action all hinge on the case. Start with the official Kentucky Courts expungement page and its forms. A licensed Kentucky lawyer can advise on specifics. So can the Department of Public Advocacy or AppalReD Legal Aid.
When a source gets it wrong, correct the layer that owns the fact. KSP handles errors in its own release. Custody data belongs to KRRJ or VINE. Case status sits with the Breathitt clerk. Once an official correction or order exists, hand it to the secondary publisher. Use its free route. A dismissal or acquittal then shows as the later court outcome. It is not a reason to distort the original dated report.
Breathitt Arrests Beyond County Custody
KOOL, the Kentucky Offender Online Lookup, covers state correction and supervision records. Its official information page says data updates daily. It also warns that accuracy is not guaranteed. Newer records may not be final. Searches can use names, aliases, DOC or PID numbers, supervision status, location, offense, conviction county, and dates. A photos-only option is available too. A photo filter still doesn't put an image on every record.
Where does a person belong? Someone just arrested lands first in the local or regional custody chain. A sentenced state prisoner or a supervised person shows up in KOOL. VINE sits alongside it when relevant. Federal prisoners fit the BOP inmate locator. ICE's locator covers eligible current or recent immigration custody. USMS pretrial tracking has no public locator, so a FOIA request may be needed. None of these is a Breathitt jail roster.
Older Breathitt Arrest Records
A web page can vanish while the record survives. An archive can also preserve a story long after custody ends. Retention in Breathitt County follows KDLA schedules, whatever the format. The county jailer schedule calls for destroying several record items about five years after release. Those items include a jail register, inmate record file, classification sheet, daily log, and special report. Transport files go three years after audit. Those rules bind the record series. They do not bind KRRJ's web display or a record held under some other arrangement.
For an older arrest, go to the original agency or current custodian. Name the record series and date range. Then ask the Breathitt court clerk for the case number and storage status. The Breathitt Advocate and Jackson Times-Voice supply dated secondary history. A 2019 Advocate issue indexed a "Mugshots" section. That proves neither a current archive nor present custody. Historic KSP reports also show a past route through Three Forks Regional Jail. Newer reports point to KRRJ. The transition date itself stays unknown.
Old crime numbers need the same date discipline. KSP's 2016 Crime in Kentucky report gives historical context only. It cannot support a current arrest count. A 2026 trend claim fares no better.
Jackson Recent Arrests in Breathitt
Jackson is the only incorporated city in the county map. It also serves as the county seat. Its police department stands apart from the sheriff's office and KSP. The county departments page lists Chief Brian Haddix, 333 Broadway, Jackson, KY 41339, and (606) 666-2424. The department posts no arrest roster or booking-photo page. It offers no same-day feed, weekly blotter, or linked app.
Jackson Recent Arrests walks through the city route in full. A Jackson Police arrest record starts with that department. Adult custody may then move to KRRJ. VINE may report status. The Breathitt court holds the later case history. Arrests out in unincorporated communities don't become Jackson cases just because county offices sit there.
